Restoration of Redesdale Hall Clock Tower

Redesdale Hall, a major landmark in Moreton-in-the Marsh, will be undergoing a critical series of restoration works where water ingress and general ageing has meant structural and decorative elements need replacing.

Tim Potts, director of Oak Frame Limited, is leading the rebuilding process and I was asked to carve sixteen oak panels that make up the four clock faces. Some of the panels that date back to 1887 have deteriorated so badly that the decorative detail has made it difficult to reproduce and will necessitate some imaginative re-thinking. Because of the April deadline, other carvers will have to be employed, but these have yet to be confirmed.
