Testimonials
Simon repaired a much-loved statue for us. The fingers offered in a blessing had broken off and the crown had smashed to several pieces in an accident. The restoration was amazing. We are so pleased with the results, Simon even replaced a cross/finial to the crown that had vanished long before it came to us. He is a real craftsman.

Friends and family of the late Maureen Rutter gathered on Selsley Common for the first viewing of a memorial bench dedicated to her memory. The bench was expertly carved by local craftsman Simon Haywood.
Simon was not daunted by this task or the fact we needed both sides of the bench carved so that we could get Mo's name with a loving message placed on the reverse side. Simon with quiet professionalism allowed us to explore our ideas while telling us what was actually possible in terms of carving successfully. He was happy to meet us and show us how things were progressing and then finished it a day earlier so that we could unveil the bench on what would have been Mo's 91st birthday.
To say we are delighted with the bench is an understatement and anyone would be truly delighted with such craftsmanship. It is a fitting memorial to a wonderful lady and Simon's trade mark of a carved rose was so perfect for this lady who was a life long socialist. Thank you Simon.

Simon, Thank you for the beautiful work you did for us at such short notice. Rushing this through for us without any compromise to workmanship was a great achievement.
HRH The Prince of Wales commented on the quality of your work and I will not hesitate to recommend you to anyone needing carving in the future.

Simon has just done some intricate carving on a memorial bench for us. His flexibility and keenness to get the wording and style right has given us a very special and personal tribute to our dear friend.
It was a complicated project with a tight deadline and not the best quality wood. Thank you Simon from all of us.

"Simon, I want to thank you for doing such a beautiful job of the lettering on the music stand. You’ve turned it into a work of art. I can’t tell you how delighted I am with the result. You were ingenious in the way you found a solution to how to reinforce it while you carved the letters, and the workmanship in the lettering itself is second to none. Thank you for doing it so speedily and carefully for us, and to our deadline too. Thanks again Simon. How lucky we were to find you! "

Our friend absolutely loved her 'The Chapel' sign, she was speechless and really taken aback by it. The look on her face was a picture. We would like to thank you so much for your time, and for completing our order when you already had such a busy schedule. Thank you so much.

2018 was a significant year for all, marking the 100th anniversary of the ending of the First World War. In the small Cotswold village of Eastleach, we wanted to mark the event with a new wooden memorial in our Village Hall.
The brief was very clear, it had to be a quality, well crafted and yet simple statement of the loss of life suffered by men of our village during that conflict and the Second World War. In the context of who would carry out this work, we wanted someone local enough to understand the dynamic of working in such a community as ours.
Simon Haywood immediately came to our aid. Budget and more importantly timescale issues were resolved and the design work agreed. Simon genuinely showed a level of interest that surpassed the client and supplier brief. He really connected with us and our community. It was a delight to invite Simon to the final unveiling of our new memorial on Remembrance Day 2018. Thank you again Simon for your superb customer service and skill.
